What is God’s Will for His Church?  Explosive Growth!

(5 Keys to Explosive Church Growth)

(Matt. 9:37-38; Luke 10:2-9; John 4:34-38; Rev. 14:14-15)

Introduction:  Recently someone said to me that they had a problem with pastors
who wanted their churches to become large.  They said that if every church became a mega church,
then there would be no more small family churches. Because most people who were raised in church
probably grew up in a small church, a church under 200 members, there may be many who feel this way.
But does God have anything to say about all of this?

God’s will for His Harvest:  James 5:7; John 15:1-8,16; Rev. 5:9-11; Jude 1:14

God’s has Designed His Church DNA for Growth (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 4:11-12, 16) in three ways:

By Multitudes being Added:

Acts 2:41, 47[Acts 2:1-6]; 5:12-16; 28; Acts 11:19-24

Thru Multiplication of both people & congregations:

And Myriads of believers in every city – Acts 20:17-20

Myriads:  10’s of 1,000’s; An indefinite # above 10,000!

Knowing God’s Will is Not Enough…We Must Know God’s Plan!

(Here are Seven Biblical Keys (or P’s) that will Produce Explosive Church Growth)

  1. We Must Prepare as if we are a church that is many times our size: (Heb. 11:7).
In looking back over many prophecies given to me, prepare is a word that is repeated over and over again.

2. We Must Pray for explosive growth to happen (Matt. 21:22; 1John 5:14; John 15:7; Col. 4:2); "Prophesy” both people and money in (Ezek 37:7-11; Mk. 11:22; Romans 4:17; 2 Cor. 12:1-9) & Position ourselves for it to happen by having enough:

Faith-Filled Staff – Matthew 14:19-21; 15:32-38; 21:18-22

Facility Space – Matt. 4:23-5:2; Luke 5:1-3; Acts 5:12; 19:7-10

Jesus used the synagogue (Matthew 4:23), homes (Luke 4:38-40), hilltops (Matthew 5:1) , Lakesides and in boats (Luke 5:1-3) and an open plain (Luke 6:12) to minister to the crowds.)

The early church used the temple (Acts 2:46); homes Acts 2:42; 20:20), the synagogue (Acts 17:2-5), schools (Acts 19:9) and other rented buildings (Acts 28:20) because there were no churches.

Financial Support – Luke 8:1-3; Rom. 10:13-15; 1 Cor. 9:7-8

"Furnishing” the Saints – Eph. 4:11-13; 16

You may wonder why a series like this should even be taught on a Sunday Morning. Because it’s part of the pastoral call and part of the believers purpose!

To mending or make fit that which is broken;

To prepare or train for service

For the Work of the Ministry

This is both individual and corporate ministry

This results in the growth of the body of Christ.

Flair or Style – 1 Kings 10:1-13

But we can’t stop with Praying, Prophesying & even Positioning

3. We Must PROCURE lots of unsaved, un-churched & unsatisfied people from outside our church quickly:  Acts 2:1-6, 41; Joel 3:13-14

Combining the Tools of Invite, Invest, & Impact Cards

The right Training in Servant Evangelism, Personal Evangelism, and Mass Evangelism (Cp. Matthew 4:24; 9:26, 31; 14:1; Mk. 1:28; Luke 4:14, 37; 5:15; Acts 26; 3:11-12; 4:4; 19:10-17.

And understanding the proper use of Timing  thru Stretching and Releasing thru Big Days/Attract Series

Once we put our Pedal to the Medal, there is no turning back!

This Easter is the Beginning of Implementation of our Strategy to GO BIG!

4. We Must PRESEVE the lion’s share of those new people thru:

Spiritual Growth Opportunities [Sun. Services & Small Groups (G. G.)]

Significant Friendships

Starting New Services Acts 19:1-10

5. We Must PREPARE and motivate these new people to invite their networks to KAFCI:

Then it all starts all over again with these new people and continues on with us also, all over again till, Jesus comes! Acts 2:41-47!

It doesn’t matter whether it’s 3,000, 300, 30 or a 150.  The Principle is the same.  What’s important is fulfilling the Great Commision to Win the Lost and Make Disciples that Multiply, Dominate and Make a Difference…in their world and around the world!

Memory Verse:

In a multitude of people is a king’s honor, But in the lack of people is the [dishonor] of a king. Proverbs 14:28 (NKJV)

It brings honor to God our King when there are multitudes of people worshipping Him in a local church; but it is dishonoring to Him when we don’t reach out to the multitudes in and around our city and bring them into His kingdom and into the local church.  It is the job of every believer to be involved in bringing in God’s Harvest.

2010 is the Year of the Harvest!
